Black Diamond Ski Category Manager Thomas Laakso January, 9, 2007-- Thomas Laakso and the ski category design team at Black Diamond have been very busy in recent months. In addition to working on an ambitious telemark and AT boot program and new tele binding system, the crew at BD has also made time to engineer ten new pairs of tele and backcountry skis to be officially unveiled at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market trade show later this month. Last week at Snowbird Resort we had a chance to talk with Thomas about a number of subjects, including general ski design parameters and his goals with the new line, the motivation for BD's move to its own factory in China, and even little about BD's new binding, and why we haven't seen any images yet.
