Kim Miller, Scarpa USA

In a 2009 Outdoor Retailer Winter Trade Show Video Interview

February 6, 2009-- "We're so committed to this (NTN); as they say in the climbing world, 'the only way off is over the top,' we've got to finish the project now." And as an offer of proof of Scarpa's commitment, Kim Miler then produced what he surely must feel is Exhibit A in making his case: Yet another NTN boot by Scarpa, this one a 4 buckle, T-Race equivalent, available Fall '09. And just like that, Scarpa will have a 3 NTN boot lineup corresponding nicely to its 75mm norm offerings, the T2, T1 and T-Race.

But will this lineup be enough to carry Scarpa's NTN project over the top?

Not if they don't get a few serious things straightened out first, and in our long chat at the recent Outdoor Retailer trade show on-snow demo event, Miller spoke frankly about the issues with

this year's boots, Scarpa's future plan to take care of its current TX boot customers, and a lot more. For those who who have been following the continuing saga of the NTN closely, and watching for all the news, here's 27 minutes of pure red meat.
