August 6,
2010-- He's been banging the skiing
drum, even sometimes literally , since first bursting
onto the scene in Greg Stump's seminal, late 80's ski film "The
Blizzard of Ahhs."
In the more than two decades since, Glen Plake, along with his
trademark mohawk, has become a genuine icon of the sport... and
its soul.
If there is any
single person who has done more for the public image of modern
skiing than Plake, I don't know who it would be. Energetic, opinionated
and dedicated, Glen is one of our very few, all-time ski heroes,
as such it's always a real pleasure to catch up with him at the
trade shows, as we did earlier this week in Salt Lake City.
