 Tom Petersen

Tom Petersen simply loves to teach. "I just want tele skiers to be able to improve their skills so they can enjoy themselves more while skiing in the backcountry or at the resorts," Petersen told us when we first met him a few years ago. To this end, "Tele Tom" as he was then known around the town of Mammoth Lakes, would give free Sunday morning telemark lessons on the hill.

Countless numbers of folks took advantage of Tom's offer, learning to tele from this PSIA Level Three instructor with a passion for passing along his knowledge.

In addition to instructing, Tom is also a full-time race coach at Mammoth in the winter, and a much in demand fly fishing guide in the summer.

Dano Cruz

In the tradition of telemark individualism, Dano Cruz does his own thing, and fortunately for us, that thing very often happens to be sharing his unique and infectious enthusiasm for the sport of telemark skiing. A world traveller and raconteur extrodinaire, Dano has a knack for inspiring his many great friends and loyal followers to take their skiing to even higher levels.

The spirit of Telemarktips.com has always been about letting folks know that we are having a helluva lot of fun and that they just might want to be a part of it. Dano Cruz is the flesh and blood embodiment of that ethic.
