Our Telemark Photos software
has an automatic resizing feature that is supposed to resize
photos down to 800 x 600 pixels as part of the uploading process.
Sometimes this resizing function will balk if the user attempts
to upload very large images, such as raw photos direct from a
digital camera. We recommend that you resize your photos prior
to uploading. Since nearly every photo can benefit from a little
cropping and image enhancement (contrast, color adjustments,
sharpening, etc.) anyway, this resizing is simply a good place
to start.
There are many excellent,
low cost digital imaging software programs available for this
purpose, and even some that can be downloaded for free, such
as Serif Software's Photo
Plus 6.0, Google's
Picassa,
and Gimp for Windows.
