itself (here), Vermont native and
Harvard graduate Graham Gephart is living his dream working for
Couloir Publications, while residing and playing in the skier's
paradise of Truckee, California. And whether he's slicing and
dicing the ice at Mad River Glen or bouncing through Sierra powder,
Graham's a fine telemark skier as well. |

Roch Horton On The New T2 Boots |

April 3, 2005--
Here Roch tells us about a drastic overhaul given to Scarpa's
T2 boot for 2005/06. Improved buckles, a T1 style instep buckle
strap/skid guard (below left), a 30% higher cuff, a new power
strap design, and a 2-position (plus off) forward lean control
are among the major design changes. And, according to Roch, all
of this was achieved while still keeping the T2 about a pound
and a half lighter than the T1. |

tele boots, Scarpa's original Terminator, through today as Garmont's
lead ski boot development consultant, Paul Parker has been the

Known for his writing and photography, as well as for being the
first person to climb and ski all of Colorado's 14'ers, Lou Dawson
is one of the more colorful characters in the backcountry skiing
world.Today Lou maintains his high profile, working with Couloir

Verdict. It will be available in 3 lengths, 190, 180 and 170cm.

The big news from Fischer is that they have decided to replace
their Big-Stix tele line with three models of the new T-Stix,
each model being size specific both in dimensions and in the

demo portion of the OR Show. He filled us in on Voile's 2005/2006
Splitboard backcountry snowboard line. They've got a new stiffer
model in addition to some updated graphics. |

Ortovox S1 Avalanche Transceiver |

February 1, 2005--
Easily the biggest news from OR this year has to be the unveiling
of the Ortovox S1 avalanche transceiver. The new digital display
beacon features an LCD screen that maps out the location of single
or multiple burial victims, giving the searcher distance info,
"x" markings representing the victims and a cross hair
representing the rescuer's current relative position. This looks
like it's going to be a major breakthrough in beacon technology.

Here's a five minute interview with Robert and Geoff from Rossi
shot at the Outdoor Retailer Backcountry Bascamp demo day at
Brighton. Rossignol has an all new tele line for next season
based on their alpine Scratch, B2 and B3 models, including women's
specific tele skis. |
