The Band Goes Richter At Season Opening Celebration
|
November 10, 2003--Less than two weeks ago Mammoth was in the grip
of a record breaking heat wave. Our opening weekend party had
been planned for months and we were getting worried. Then it
got cold, and the storm door opened just in time.
And while it may have been cold and snowing
hard outside last Saturday night, inside Fever, Mammoth's new
nightclub, the heat wave made a brief return courtesy of a blistering
set of straight-ahead rock and roll by Waxapples. |
|
The crowd was primed for some good music
after a give-away session that saw numerous party-goers spin
the Freeheel of Fortune prize wheel and take home skis, bindings,
tele boots and dozens of the new Telemarktips logo T-shirts.
Karhu Telemark Team members Taiga Young and Lorenzo Worster joined
us on stage to help out with the drawing while Big Tim went around
and made friends by passing out even more shirts.

Right: and
why is Eric O. smiling? Could it be because he knew it was dumping
a foot of snow outside?

After the band a DJ came on, and so did
the pole dancers. It was a fine way to end a fun party
The crew at Telemarktips.com would like
to thank the nearly 150 people that came out to Fever to help
us welcome in another season of telemark and backcountry skiing.
Good snow, a fun party and lots of friends.
It was an opening weekend none of us here will soon forget. Thanks
again everybody. |
