It's Official: ScottyBob's Tele Skis Will Be In Shops This Fall

August 21, 2005-- In a story broken first here last week in Tele News, Scotty Bob's Handcrafted skis of Silverton, Colorado, has announced that they are expanding into retail shops this fall. "We're in turbocharge mode. We now have a complete line and the 05/06 ScottyBobs are the best yet,” says co-founder David Mazzarella. “We’ve got a new Hua birch core that has an even higher modulus of elasticity than sugar maple. It’s got a ton of energy. We’ve added metal tip and tail protectors, beefier fiberglass and we’ve re-engineered the flex/camber ratios for higher performance. I think a lot of telemarkers will be thrilled with where we have taken our skis.”

In the company's official press release, inventor and co-founder Scotty Bob Carlson says, “I’m totally stoked that for the first time, anyone can walk into a store, hold the skis in their hand and check out our design.”

And so are we. At Telemarktips we've been telling you about these tele-specific skis for more than four years and we're just as stoked as Scott to know that tele skier will have easier access than ever to Carlson's unique, tele-specific design. As we see it, this is a great opportunity for our readers to confirm what so many already know, this is the place to get the real beta about innovative telemark gear.

Greg Floyd, owner of Bent Gate Mountaineering in Golden, Colorado offers up similar sentiments in the SB press release, “We try hard to offer our customers something different and truly specific. I’ve mounted up enough pairs of these to know that ScottyBob has got something very special going on. ScottyBob’s design proves that telemark is more than just a topsheet.”

Yep.

The suggested retail price in shops this fall will be $550 per pair.
