The skiing public has, for a long time,
requested a complete overhaul of tradition- bound telemark bindings.
Rottefella has, together with the boot manufacturers Scarpa,
Crispi and Garmont, worked for several years to fulfil this desire.
The NTN system, complete with new bindings and boots are now
ready and will be displayed at the ISPO 2006 fair.
The NTN-system breaks with the traditional
75 mm system and solutions, which all present telemark bindings
are based upon. It also provides many new features and advantages:
- Symmetrical boot/binding (no left
and right binding).
|
- Far better skiing performance due to a
new attachment point under the boot. This gives better stability
and more precise transfer of power.
|
- The NTN boot has no duckbill
sole.
|
- The NTN boot has improved walking/hiking
performance.
|
- The NTN boot is perfectly adapted for
crampons.
|
- The NTN boot will fit into traditional
Alpine Touring bindings.
|
The new NTN telemark binding from Rottefella
will offer far better skiing qualities and more features than
existing 75mm telemark bindings, including:
- Better stability and skiing performance
|
- Touring mode (like Alpine Touring bindings)
|
|
|
|
|
- Possibility for an advanced and dependable
release function
|
- A radical new design, modernizing the
look and function of telemark bindings.

Product launch plan:
Rottefella is planning a product launch
in two steps, the first being a limited launch in Norway fall
2006. NTN products will be available for consumers at a limited
number of Norwegian retail outlets winter 2006/2007. Step two
will see an international launch in January 2007, which means
that the NTN binding and boots will be available for consumers
world wide winter 2007/2008. |
