Tail
Grab (Jump)
This trick is actually very similar to
the 70s freestyle "mule kick" trick . After you
are off the jump, think about bringing your feet up and to the
side. At the same time that you are moving your feet up behind
you, cross your skis by pointing your toes towards each other,
as if you were pigeon toed.
By moving your feet up behind you and by
crossing the skis you have now brought the tail of your skis
up behind your hips. You can do this to either side. Some people
will have one side that feels more natural than the other. If
you have moved your feet up under you on your right side, then
with your right hand reach behind your right hip and grab the
ski. You can get a more solid hold of the ski if you come up
under the bottom edge.
The point of the grab is to tweak the trick.
This makes it stylish. To further tweak the trick, grab the ski
and pull it in an upward motion. This will cross your skis even
more, giving you that extra bit of style.--Scott Schield |
